Contests & Giveaways Tall Girl Spotlight

Stand Tall: May Winner

We had many inspiring submissions this month! Congratulations to Karina, our March #StandTall Contest winner! Karina was nominated by her mother, who is clearly incredibly proud of her daughter. Read more about Karina below!

“My daughter Karina always wanted to be 6 feet tall, ever since she was a little girl.

She is that tall now at the age of 16 🙂

However, along the way we’ve discovered some things that have caused difficulties due to her height.

Karina was born missing part of  her C-1 cervical spine. Due to her height, this causes headaches, stiff muscles in her neck and shoulders, and difficulty in overall activities. As a result of this, she is not allowed to play in sports or any activity that can cause her injury to her head or neck. The doctor told us to prevent her from falling (seriously, how do you prevent someone from falling. It’s a life occurrence).

Despite this, Karina plays the flute, is in band, part of honor choir, pulls a 4.1 GPA, is part of student council, volunteers at different activities, and is optimistic about life. Her peers and teachers at her school speak highly of her.

I just wish I could make things easier for her!

Sincerely,

Karen Brecheisen”
